Removing the Recovery Files from OpenOffice Document
Ever been irritated by the "Recovery of Files" from OpenOffice? Same here, the fact is that the files it was trying to recovery on my PC was just an old file that was long gone. The issue is every time I open an OpenOffice document, it keeps on popping out and returns an error.

How do I solve this on Windows?

To stop the recovery process, you can delete the file
Documents and settings/<user>/Application data/Openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Recovery.xcu.

Simply delete this file and openoffice will stop looking for recovery files that were long gone.

SOS, I'm on Linux

For Linux users, simply browse to this directory to remove it.
file:///home/[your username]/.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Recovery.xcu
